How long have you been working at Mon Motors?
I have been with Mon Motors since late 2021. I initially joined as a Retention Specialist, which gave me an opportunity to use my experience in the motor trade to support customer loyalty and build strong relationships. The role developed quickly and set the foundation for my move into sales management.
What first attracted you to Mon Motors?
I have worked in the motor trade for my entire career, spending 15 years with BMW before taking a brief step into mortgage advising after Covid. It was clear quite quickly that mortgages were not the right fit for me, so I began looking to return to car sales. When I interviewed at Mon Motors for a Sales Executive role, the team recognised that my experience and skillset were better suited to a new Retention Specialist position they were developing. The fact that they tailored a role to maximise my strengths showed how much the company values people and invests in their potential. That made a huge impression on me.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Variety is the best part of my job. No two days are the same and there is always something new to tackle. Whether I am reviewing performance, supporting the team, helping customers or planning future activity, the pace and diversity of the role mean I am never bored. Working alongside talented and supportive colleagues, as well as engaging with customers, makes the role both enjoyable and rewarding.
What is the team like at Volkswagen Bath?
Bath Volkswagen, and Mon Motors as a whole, has a genuine family feel. People look out for one another, support each other and share successes. The environment is collaborative, positive and driven by a strong belief in doing the right thing for both customers and colleagues. It is the kind of team where everyone wants you to succeed.
Have you had any training or development opportunities since joining?
Since stepping into the Sales Manager role, I have been incredibly well supported by the senior management team and by my direct manager, Brendon. Everyone has gone out of their way to help me develop and settle into the new position. That level of support speaks volumes about the culture at Mon Motors and the commitment to helping people grow.
