How long have you been working at Mon Motors?
I joined Mon Motors in February 2014 as New Car Sales Manager at Cardiff Audi. Taking the role was a big step at the time, but it quickly became clear that I was joining a company built on integrity, support and genuine family values. A decade later, I am still proud to be part of the business and the journey it has taken me on.
What first attracted you to Mon Motors?
Mon Motors has always had a strong reputation as a family run business that does things the right way. At the time, I was working for an Audi retailer in England when a good friend and former colleague, Richard Tatnell, recommended me for the opportunity. His belief in the company, combined with my own desire to work somewhere with integrity and long term vision, made the decision an easy one.
What does a typical day look like for you?
In my earlier years, the fast paced nature of car sales was a huge appeal. Working with aspirational brands and meeting customers with incredible stories kept every day exciting. Today, as I have moved into senior roles, I find just as much enjoyment in seeing my team grow, develop and achieve. Leading people, supporting their progression and watching them step into new responsibilities is one of the most rewarding parts of my day.
What is the team like at Volvo Cars Cardiff?
At Mon Motors Volvo, we have built a genuinely customer focused team that operates seamlessly across departments. Everyone works together to deliver the best possible experience, and there is a strong sense of unity and shared purpose. Across Mon Motors as a whole, the culture is exactly what you hope for in a family run business. People look after each other, support one another and always try to do the right thing for both staff and customers.
Have you had any training or development opportunities since joining?
I have had significant support throughout my career. I completed the Audi Head of Business LEAD Course at Manchester University in 2017 and 2018, which was a brilliant programme. Alongside this, there is ongoing brand training, Mon Motors internal development and Jason Brogden’s continuous work on engaging learning tools such as our daily “Cognito” questions. And, above it all, the business is full of incredibly knowledgeable people who are always willing to help. No matter the situation, someone has usually seen it before.
