How long have you been working at Mon Motors?
I have been part of Mon Motors since 2017. With more than three decades in the motor trade and a second career in teaching and coaching, joining the business allowed me to bring both skillsets together. Mon Motors offered the right environment to apply my coaching experience to a sector I know well, and it has been a fulfilling place to work ever since.
What first attracted you to Mon Motors?
After spending years developing my coaching and leadership expertise, returning to the automotive industry felt like a natural progression. Mon Motors was the right fit because it allowed me to use what I had learned in teaching, adult training and coaching to support people within a business that genuinely values personal development. It was an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day involves supporting development pathways for colleagues across the organisation. I work closely with individuals and teams to help them build confidence, develop new skills and grow into new roles. Much of my work focuses on coaching conversations, designing training content and providing guidance that helps people progress. No two days are the same, and each day brings the opportunity to help someone take the next step in their career.
What is the team like at Mon Motors?
I work within a genuinely people centric team that operates largely behind the scenes. While customers may not always see the work we do, we ensure that the essential systems, support structures and development opportunities that people often assume happen automatically, actually do happen. It is a supportive, thoughtful group who care deeply about helping others succeed.
Have you had any training or development opportunities since joining?
Long before joining Mon Motors, I was fortunate to be part of the Inchcape Future Leaders Programme, which shaped much of my early thinking around leadership and personal development. Since joining the business, the ongoing learning comes from the work itself. Every conversation, every coaching session and every opportunity to innovate keeps my development moving forward. I enjoy finding new ways to support people and constantly adapt as the organisation’s needs evolve.

What would you say to someone considering applying to Mon Motors?
I would say, do it. Mon Motors is big enough to have a real impact across the industry, yet small enough that people genuinely know and support each other. This is a business where you can make a difference, where your voice is heard and where the opportunities are there for those who want to grow. If you value learning, development and being part of a collaborative environment, it is the right place to be.
