Drivers who buy a Volkswagen electric car from Mon Motors will be offered a VW service plan to help them keep their new investment running as smoothly as possible. Here’s everything you need to know about this important aftercare.

What is a Volkswagen Electric Service Plan?
A VW service plan is a selection of services to keep a vehicle in good running order, including services, MOTs and roadside assistance. The cost of these is spread into smaller monthly payments to make it easier for drivers to budget. In some cases, the total of the monthly payments works out less than the cost of paying for each of these services individually.
Mon Motors offers several Volkswagen Service Plans (including the Standard, Plus and All-In), but many of these exclude VW electric cars. Fortunately, there are VW service plans that cater to these vehicles' specific needs.
Volkswagen ID. Models aged 0-15 years old
The ID. Series is Volkswagen’s collection of electric vehicles, which includes the ID.3 hatchback, ID.7 saloon and ID. Buzz minivan. Volkswagen recommends that these vehicles be serviced every two years, which involves a full vehicle inspection, a pollen filter and brake oil change, and a diagnostic check for any new software. This will also include a battery state of health check to confirm the battery remains above 70% capacity.
There are three levels of Volkswagen service plan available for ID. models in their first year.
- Essentials — this covers one service
- Standard — this provides two services over four years and one MOT
- Plus — this includes two services over four years, two MOTs and two tyre replacements.

eGolf and eUp! aged 1-15 years old
In addition to the ID. Series, there are VW service plans available for two discontinued Volkswagen electric cars — the eGolf hatchback and e-Up city car.
Drivers of these vehicles can benefit from two services, brake fluid change, a pollen filter replacement if necessary, and a diagnostic check for any software updates for £17.75 a month for 24 months (or £426 upfront).

Benefits of a Volkswagen Electric Service Plan
A Volkswagen service plan is recommended because vehicle maintenance is an important way of potentially extending a vehicle’s life. The Volkswagen-approved technicians at Mon Motors are as knowledgeable as can be when it comes to Volkswagen vehicles, and they’ll be able to use their expertise to spot minor issues before they become much bigger, as well as optimise a vehicle’s performance.
VW electric cars have specific needs when it comes to maintenance. Our VW electric service plans include a battery state of health check, which will measure the battery’s capacity to ensure it’s still above 70%.
If you’re already convinced of a need to look after your vehicle, a key benefit of a VW service plan is how it spreads the costs out over a longer period. This can be a great way to budget, as opposed to paying for each of the services individually when they arise.
Book a Volkswagen MOT and service with Mon Motors

- Valid for vehicles aged 3 to 6 years, with a 2.0L engine or less and under 100,000 miles at activation. Pay monthly option payable over 24 months. Excludes electric vehicles and vehicles with an existing service plan. Vehicles that have been out of a warranty (that has been provided by Volkswagen UK or Volkswagen Financial Services) for more than 30 days will have a no-claim period of 30 days at the start of their policy. The All‑in Warranty is funded by Volkswagen Group and does not cover any vehicle already covered under any other guarantee, insurance, warranty and/or gesture of goodwill.
