Motability offers a simple solution: Go Charge, a card and app that gives you access to over 58,000 public charge points across the UK. Instead of managing multiple accounts or networks, Go Charge connects you to a wide range of trusted providers through one easy-to-use app.
There are no subscription or authorisation fees, and you’ll never pay more than the operator’s standard ‘pay as you go’ rate. If you receive a complimentary bp pulse subscription as part of your Motability package, you’ll benefit from even lower charging rates*.

Free, flexible, and easy to use
Why use Motability Go Charge
Go Charge is included with every electric vehicle leased through the Motability Scheme, whether you’re eligible for a home charger or unable to have one installed. It gives you access to over 58,000 public charge points across the UK from 40 different charge point operators.
You’ll receive a physical Go Charge card and access to the Go Charge app. The app lets you find nearby chargers, check availability, and filter by connector type or charging speed.
Once you’ve selected a charge point, you can navigate to it using Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps. You can also track your charging history, monitor costs over time, and start or stop charging sessions remotely.
If you prefer to use the card, or you’re in an area with limited signal, it works seamlessly at charge points from over 20 trusted providers, including GRIDSERVE, Source London, ChargePlace Scotland, ESB, GeniePoint, Shell Recharge, Osprey, and many more.

How to use Motability Go Charge
How do I charge with Motability Go Charge?
Once you’ve set up the Go Charge app and added your payment details, you're ready to start charging. There’s no need to preload credit, you’ll only be charged after using a public charge point.
- Open the app and tap on a pin to view a charge point
- You’ll see key details like availability, connector type, and charging speed
- Use the app’s navigation feature if you need directions
- When you arrive, follow the instructions on the charge point screen
- Plug in your charging cable, then either tap your Go Charge card on the card reader, or use the app
- Monitor your session and costs in real time via the app
- When you’re done, stop charging using the app or the device itself
- Unplug the cable and you're ready to go
You’ll never pay more than the operator’s standard ‘pay as you go’ rate. Prices vary depending on the provider and charger speed, and you can always check the tariff in the app before you start.
If you receive a bp pulse subscription as part of your Motability package, you’ll automatically benefit from lower rates at bp pulse charge points.
