Vehicle service plans offer a package of car or van care that typically includes a set number of services and other maintenance tasks, and can be purchased for a fixed payment. Service plans can be paid for in full and upfront, meaning you have nothing more to pay in the years that the plan is active for, or you can opt to pay in a series of monthly instalments.
Cars and vans need regular servicing to maintain best condition, ensuring all functions are running correctly. A service plan is an option to booking servicing on a pay-as-you basis. Some drivers may prefer the convenience of a service plan because once they have signed up to one, the cost of services – and MOTs, if included – are covered. It can be reassuring to know that servicing has been scheduled.
What’s included in a service plan will vary, as every manufacturer offers a choice of service plans that include different levels of servicing and maintenance. Some service plans, such as Audi all-in, is a 24-month plan that includes two services, two MOTs, two years’ warranty and two years’ roadside assistance, and is for vehicles aged three to six years at the point of activation.
Others, such as the Ford Protect Wear & Tear Plan, can cover the cost of repairs or replacement of brake pads, brake discs, shock absorbers, bulbs and other important vehicle components.

How much does a service plan with Mon Motors cost?
Service plans for Audi, Volkswagen, Škoda, SEAT, Ford, Volvo and CUPRA can be purchased through Mon Motors but the price and types of plan are set by the manufacturers.
Service plans will vary in cost, depending on the duration of the plan – some can be two years, others four years – and what they include.

What does a service plan include?
What’s included in a service plan varies and there is usually a choice of plans with different levels of cover.
For example, a Volvo service plan offers three types – Service Plan, Service Plan Plus (which has wear and tear coverage) and Service Plan Plus with Tyres (which covers tyres for normal wear and tear). This means you can choose a service plan that suits your vehicle, and your budget.
Can I buy a service plan for a used car or van?
Yes. Service plans aren’t just for new cars – though some are only for new cars and need to be bought within a certain timeframe after its first registration.
There are service plans for Approved Used cars and vans available. For example, the Škoda All-in plan is for vehicles aged between 3 and 6 years old, and with a mileage of under 100,000 at the point of activation. Other manufacturers provide similar service plans for older vehicles.
