Check if your Škoda has a safety recall
In the event of a Škoda recall, you can expect to be contacted to let you know exactly what the recall is for, and what you need to do next. If the recall relates to a defect that the manufacturer considers serious – something that affects vehicle performance when driving – you should book an appointment with your nearest Mon Motors Škoda dealership. If an Audi recall has been issued because of a serious problem that could affect how you drive the vehicle, you will be notified.
You can also check for any recalls yourself. Visit Škoda’s Recall Campaigns page to see active recalls; you will be able to check if your particular model is affected by inputting the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of your Škoda. If you don’t know where to find your VIN, it will be listed in your car’s logbook and also visible on the windscreen. There’s also a vehicle recall checker on the gov.uk website.
Škoda repair work needed because of a recall is free of charge. At Mon Motors, Technicians based across our four Škoda dealerships – Bristol, Gloucester, Newport, Weston-super-Mare – have been trained and approved by Škoda.
What is a Škoda recall?
A Škoda recall is issued if a known fault has been discovered, and needs to be resolved. While recalls don’t happen frequently, Škoda models are always checked and monitored post production as some issues may only become clear once vehicles have been driven for a time. All automotive manufacturers issue recalls when needed, and recalls typically only affect specific models produced during a specific timeframe.
Some recalls may be for relatively minor issues; a software update that doesn’t make driving the vehicle unsafe but are recommended. These types of recall can usually wait until your Škoda is in for its next service. Other recalls may be more urgent – issues with braking, engine performance or airbags, for example.
