SMART Protect helps keep your car looking like new by covering the cost of minor cosmetic repairs. It’s a simple, stress-free way to maintain your car’s appearance without needing to claim on your main insurance - so your no-claims bonus stays safe.
Repairs are arranged and managed directly through AutoProtect. Using the AutoProtect App, you can submit a claim in minutes. Once approved, an experienced AutoProtect repair Technician will visit you at home or work to complete the repair at a time that suits you.
If a repair can’t be completed using SMART technology, you’ll receive up to £250 towards a traditional bodyshop repair, helping keep your car in top condition no matter the damage*.

SMART Protect from AutoProtect
How does SMART Protect work?
With SMART Protect, your car is covered for dents and chips up to 30cm in diameter and light scratches up to 30cm long. If a repair can’t be completed using SMART Protect, you’ll receive up to £250 towards a traditional bodyshop repair*.
Making a claim is simple. Submit your details through the AutoProtect App, and once approved, you can schedule a convenient time for an expert Technician to visit your home or workplace. Repairs are carried out efficiently, restoring your car’s appearance with minimal disruption.
Terms & conditions
*This policy doesn’t cover vehicles over 10 years and/or 100,000 miles. Panel replacement, stickers and decals, beading and moldings, cracked or dented bumpers, or their replacement. Repairs will only be undertaken if an invisible result can be achieved using SMART technology. Third party liability is excluded. The policy will cover scuffs and dents up to 30cm in diameter and light scratches up to 30cm long with a maximum depth of 3mm. Chips are covered of up to 5mm and a maximum depth of 1.5mm. For any claims that don’t qualify as a SMART repair or if an invisible result can’t be achieved, a contribution of up to £250 will be paid towards a bodyshop repair, on receipt of a valid, VAT invoice. Please ask for authorisation before proceeding.
