New Models Coming Soon
Volkswagen is entering an exciting new chapter, with a host of fresh models set to join the line-up over the coming months. From updates to familiar favourites to bold new entries in the electric ID. family, there is plenty on the horizon for drivers who value style, innovation and reliability.
This blog offers a first look at what’s coming next, including the updated T-Roc, the all-electric ID. Polo and ID. Polo GTI, the versatile ID. CROSS concept, the newly launched performance-focused ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE, and the accessible new ID. EVERY1. Together, these models highlight Volkswagen’s commitment to delivering choice across both traditional and electric vehicles.
The All-New Volkswagen T-Roc
Volkswagen has unveiled the second generation of the T-Roc, bringing a fresh design, more comfort, and upgraded technology to one of its most popular SUV, set to go on sale in the UK early 2026.
Inside, there’s a more premium feel thanks to soft-touch surfaces and ambient lighting that gives a “lounge-like” atmosphere. There’s a new cockpit with a 13" infotainment screen, and a dashboard trimmed with fabric upholstery. An optional 14-way ergoActive front seat, with massage function, will feature in the Style version. Technology and driver-assistance are also stepped up, borrowing from Volkswagen’s larger models. Items like Travel Assist (which supports automatic lane changes), driving experience control, head-up display for the windscreen, and Park Assist Pro that can automatically park the car and retrieve it over distances of up to 50 metres using stored manoeuvres. Exit warning systems are also offered.
Under the bonnet, for the European launch (which will closely align with what UK spec is likely to be), the car will use mild-hybrid petrol engines. These are 1.5-litre eTSI units in two power levels: 85 kW (116 PS) and 110 kW (150 PS). Full hybrid options and an all-wheel drive 4MOTION version with a 2.0-litre TSI (also mild-hybrid) are planned for later. Transmission is a 7-speed dual-clutch as standard for the mild-hybrids.
For trims, Volkswagen is simplifying the range into four main versions: Trend (entry), Life (comfort), Style (design & tech) and R-Line (sporty styling). This clarity should help buyers more easily choose the spec level that fits them. A performance-focused 'T-Roc R' is rumoured to launch at a later date. Colour options are varied, including some new shades such as Canary Yellow (solid), Flamed Red (metallic), Celestial Blue (metallic), some classic metallics like Wolf Grey, plus Pure White solid. A bi-colour option (black roof) is also offered.
The Volkswagen ID. Polo & ID. Polo GTI
Volkswagen is embarking on a new naming strategy, bringing familiar model names into its electric future. First up is the ID. Polo, set to launch in 2026. The model builds on the legacy of the existing Polo - known for quality, safety and being technology-rich - but reimagined as an all-electric vehicle. The concept car first appeared as the ID. 2all, and the GTI variant will follow as the ID. Polo GTI. The ID. Polo will serve as a cornerstone of Volkswagen’s effort to make EVs more affordable and accessible. It will sit alongside the conventional combustion-engine Polo, meaning customers retain familiar names; however, with options across electric and traditional drives.
Both the ID. Polo and the GTI version are described to be in the near-production concept stage. Some of the key expectations are: an emphasis on clean design that’s recognisable as Volkswagen but updated to the electric era; A cockpit combining digital and physical controls: touchscreen interfaces, but also tactile elements like buttons and knobs to retain intuitive usability; and the GTI variant is expected to deliver sporty dynamics and enhanced performance while retaining the stylish feel of the GTI badge.
While exact On-the-Road pricing has yet to be confirmed, Volkswagen emphasises value, balancing features, design and innovation to deliver an EV small car that feels premium without over-stretching cost.
The Volkswagen ID. CROSS Concept
The ID. CROSS Concept reflects a new, clear and likeable design language. Volkswagen Head of Design Andreas Mindt explains: "We call our new design language 'Pure Positive'. It is based on our three design cornerstones of stability, likeability and secret sauce; it will characterise every new Volkswagen in the future. We rely on a pure and powerful clarity, along with visual stability and a positive, likeable vehicle personality. The lines and powerful surfaces on the ID. CROSS Concept are pure and clear. They shape an SUV that is a trend setter not a trend follower and one that transfers the brand’s identity into the future.”
The ID. CROSS Concept’s positive personality is immediately recognisable in areas such as the front and rear. With their graphics and 3D light signature, they give the impression that the car is ‘smiling’. Andreas Mindt adds: “A Volkswagen must be likeable, unmistakable and inspire with its character. That’s why we deliberately evoke Volkswagen icons such as the Golf and the VW bus in the ID. CROSS Concept – on top, as a dash of ‘secret sauce’. This can be seen, for example, in the charismatic C-pillars and the completely straight window line. Few volume brands in the world can draw on such a strong heritage. And that will always be in in our toolkit on our journey into the future."
The Volkswagen ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE
Volkswagen has introduced a limited special edition of the ID.3 - the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE. This striking model features an exceptionally dynamic powertrain, exclusive paintwork, and distinctive design highlights. Created in collaboration with the performance sportswear brand BOGNER FIRE+ICE, part of the Munich-based luxury sports fashion company BOGNER, the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE pays tribute to the legendary Golf II Fire and Ice of the 1990s, a model that achieved cult status among enthusiasts. In honour of the original Golf II Fire and Ice launch year, just 1,990 units of the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE will be produced. UK on-the-road prices start from £48,360
